Cumarú
Cumarú is an aromatic seed known as the "Brazilian vanilla." To extract Cumarú, it is necessary to break the resistant fruit of the cumaruzeiro tree, which is native to the Amazon region and can reach up to 30 meters (98 feet) in height.
For culinary use, the seed is dehydrated and develops on a wrinkled appearance. Its demand has increased as a substitute for vanilla, as a single seed is capable of flavoring several dishes. The Cumarú seed is also widely used in the production of essential oils, cosmetics, and soaps.
